Webtoon XYZ: find the best webtoons and manhwa to read next
Webtoon XYZ is an independent guide to webtoons and manhwa. We keep the lists short, explain each story in plain words and point you to official apps where you can read it legally.
Start in three clicks
A webtoon is a digital comic you read by scrolling, usually on a phone. If you are new, these three doors get you reading fast.
What Webtoon XYZ is, and what it is not
Webtoon XYZ is a reading guide. We write short lists, we check each series against official pages before we describe it, and we link to licensed platforms such as WEBTOON, Tapas and Tappytoon.
We are not the official WEBTOON service, and we do not host or link to pirated comics. If you are looking for a place to read, Webtoon XYZ will send you to the apps that pay the creators.

Webtoon, manhwa and manga in one table
Webtoon XYZ gets this question all the time: webtoon describes a format, while manhwa and manga describe where a comic comes from.
| Webtoon | Manhwa | Manga | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | A scrolling format | Comics from South Korea | Comics from Japan |
| How you read | Scroll down | Often scroll online | Pages, right to left |
| Colour | Usually colour | Often colour online | Mostly black and white |

Five habits that make reading better
Scrolling comics are easy to start. A few habits make them more fun.
- Give a story five episodes. Many series spend the first chapters on setup, and the hook arrives a little later.
- Check the age rating. Some of the most popular webtoons are written for adults.
- Follow one or two series, not ten. A short list is easier to keep up with.
- Use free episodes first. Spend coins only on a story you already love.
- Keep a note of what you liked. After a few weeks you will see your own pattern, and picking gets easy.
