Painter Behind the Curtain is an older BL manga that still remains a fan-favorite. It explores some incredibly sensible topics, including abuse, confinement, and sexual assault, with a lot of heart.

Not Shavonne, though – he’s too busy struggling to make ends meet to worry about a serial killer. That is, until he meets his new neighbor, Lewellyn. The handsome, yet eccentric man spends his days sitting on the stairway peeling onions until his eyes are red-raw and has filthy black fingernails.
The MC reluctantly accepts a dinner invitation from his peculiar new neighbor, and he soon makes a gruesome discovery that brings the murders much closer to home.
Walk On Water Best Bl Webtoons
Walk on Water is an edgy, dark story that features one of the genre’s most iconic art styles. It’s also one of the most heart-wrenching BL stories out there, telling the story of Sehyun, a bodyguard who makes his money from the questionable circles in the city and who meets Boris, a man who wants to make him see that life is worth living again. This is the type of BL that has made JAXX one of the genre’s most renowned writers. It’s available on Tappytoon.
Painter Behind the Curtain is another one of those old-school BLs that’s been a fan-favorite for years. It covers a lot of sensible topics, including revenge and sexual assault, but does so gracefully. It’s available on Tappytoon, with explicit and non-explicit versions.

This Chinese manhua has some of the best art styles in the genre, as well as a story that is capable of bringing grown men to tears. It follows Sehyun, a hoodlum who lives in the most questionable circles, and Boris, a man who is determined to make him see that life is worth living.
This manhwa contains quite a few sensible topics, including abuse and revenge. It’s available on Lezhin US and Tappytoon, with both explicit and non-explicit versions to choose from.
Sweet Munchies
Sweet Munchies features Jung Il Woo as bistro chef Park Jin Sung, Kang Ji Young as budding producer-director Ah Jin, and Lee Hak Joo as genius fashion designer Kang Tae Wan. While the drama may have a frustrating story, its food scenes and cinematography are worth a watch.
As a contract worker at a broadcasting company, Ah Jin is constantly disrespected by her peers and bosses. She tries to minimize her frustration by frequenting the late-night bistro owned by chef Jin Sung.
She gets the idea to host a talk show that will feature a chef. But the catch is that the chef needs to be gay. This gives Jin Sung the idea to lie about his sexuality in order to get the job. Unfortunately, this will create some problems down the line. It also squanders the opportunity to present thought-provoking LGBT representation.
Where Your Eyes Linger
When Where Your Eyes Linger aired on the Korea W-Story app and Viki, many fans were apprehensive. It was a star-crossed love story between two high school students, one of whom is the heir to a large business empire and the other is his devoted bodyguard.
Despite this obvious barrier to their romance, the show made it work through a narrative that wasn’t overwrought with unnecessary secondary characters or contrived plot points. It understood that less is more, and a simple pensive glance or piercing line of dialogue could convey so much tension.
Where Your Eyes Linger is an elegantly simple yet deeply satisfying teenage drama that should be seen by every BL fan. It is the kind of story that you can’t help but root for, and that you will want to see succeed. And it did.

It’s also one of the few stories to feature a deaf main character, which is truly groundbreaking for the genre. Check it out on Lezhin US! It’s an absolute must-read for BL fans!
Blueming Best Bl Webtoons
In Blueming, IU delivers another head-nodding pop song with her always-appealing vocals. This time around, she’s tasked with a simple melody that sounds at home in any era.
The premise of the drama explores perception versus reality. Si Won’s self-conscious of his appearance, fitness, and popularity, resulting in him telling little white lies to maintain his image. He has a negative perception of his classmate Da Un, whom he believes belittles him in every situation.
The two characters overcome their rocky relationship through sweet moments of friendship and romantic passion. The story achieves a couple of exceptional moments, but it’s hindered by clunky storytelling and lackluster build-up. It’s still a good series, though. The actors give impressive performances, capturing the authenticity of their chemistry.
Cherry Blossoms After Winter Best Bl Webtoons
Hae Bom’s parents died as a child, so she was adopted by her mother’s best friend, who has a son the same age as Haebom. The two boys have separate social Best BL Webtoons circles, but they’re in the same class at school now.
Despite their differences, they have an unspoken bond. They adore each other and want to be together. Despite their mothers reservations, she eventually approves of their relationship.
Cherry Blossoms After Winter features a cute premise and charming visuals. However, the story is too cliched and sappy for my taste. Its cheesy dialogue and contrived scenarios often exceed my personal quota of second-hand embarrassment. The leads give decent performances, but they aren’t enough to elevate this sappy romance. The dazzling visuals aren’t enough to make up for the mediocre writing and shallow plot. The romcom is also heavy on familiar BL tropes.
Happy Merry Ending Best Bl Webtoons
Despite its title, Happy Merry Ending isn’t a happy ending. This 2023 drama based on the manhwa by Dorae features a vocal coach and his shy love interest. The introverted protagonist works as a wedding singer part-time and experiences panic attacks caused by trauma from his past. He meets Jae Hyun when the talkative host of a new wedding ceremony asks him to sing congratulatory songs.
While a few episodes show glimmer of promise, the overall narrative feels dry and underwhelming. Moreover, the last few episodes steer the plot toward angsty melodrama and derails any momentum in the romance with a poorly executed time skip. It also omits any character development about how the protagonist overcomes his trauma, a crucial aspect of the story.
The Tasty Florida Best Bl Webtoons
There’s an easygoing vibe to The Tasty Florida, propelled by its colourful visuals and handsome actors. But while the series boasts a stylish ambiance, its story lacks substance, and its forced love triangle dampens any vibrant momentum.
The most romantic scene in the Best BL Webtoons show occurs in Episode 8, when Eun Kyu finally musters up the courage to tell Hae Won that he likes him. The two share a majestic kiss on the rooftop, a moment that’s both romantic and cinematic.
Conclusion
There’s a single shirtless scene in The Tasty Florida, and it lasts just a few seconds. However, this is more than enough to showcase Eun Kyu’s spectacular abs, and it makes for a memorable kiss scene.
